I don't think I can return to analyzing my smoothies right now, I need to take a break and feel better about what we/I eat.

Tonight a simple roasted chicken that is almost entirely local. The chicken is from a Hutterite colony that is a 10 minute drive from our home, the corn was from the back of a pick up truck on the highway, the onion, carrots, and potato are from Peak of the Market (local producer http://www.peakmarket.com/index.cfm), and the celery... not really sure exactly but considering what I have learned about my smoothie ingredients its local enough for me.

I had to include a shot of the VegoMatic, it has been slicing, dicing, and wedging since 1969. When I moved out on my own I asked my mom if I could take it. It brings back great memories of making fries with my dad in the kitchen at home. Does it have anything to do with sustainability or consumerism? Maybe, but right now I am just happy to have made a low carbon footprint meal for the family.
Tomorrow I will make soup.
